Jummah Prayers Cancelled at ICCL
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With the heightened alert of spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) in the the State of Pennsylvania advised by the Department of Health and per the Directive of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, ICCL will be cancelling the Jummah Prayers until further notice. We advise you Not to come to the ICCL Masjid for Jummah prayers and pray Zuhr Salat at home or at work.
Preservation of Life and health of Individual and Community is one of the basic principals of Islam and Sharia'h and there is precedence set by the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) Companions (Sahaba Radhi-Allahu Anuhum) during the first plague that inflicted the Muslim community just four years after Prophet's death, in Greater Syrian region (Ta’oon Amwas) where due to the plague, all the social and religious gatherings were suspended by the Governor of the region and the Companion of Prophet, Umar ibn-al Aas (RA). We are following the teachings of the great Companions (Sahaba).
Insha Allah as the situation improves regarding this pandemic, we will inform everyone of resuming the Jummah prayers and other religious activities at ICCL. Please continue to exercise precautions and emphasize self-care by avoiding travel to high risk areas and by not participating in large gatherings. We pray that Allah keeps our community and Muslims safe and cure those who are infected with this virus, Ameen.
Jazak Allah Khairun.
