Morocco Earthquake Assistance

On Friday, September 8th, a devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck 7 miles from Adassil, Morocco. State media reports that more than 2,500 people have died and the same or more are injured. Aftershocks continue, making emergency assistance difficult and dangerous.

Many countries have sent relief. Also, non-government organizations (NGOs) are already on the ground assisting with rescue efforts. More help is on its way. We ask you to keep those affected by this tragedy in your prayers as the death toll will most likely rise in the coming days.

In light of this tragic event, the Islamic Community Center of Lancaster has created an emergency relief fund for much-needed help for the survivors of the deadly earthquakes. The donations collected will be distributed to an IRS 501(c)(3) relief organization.
