Verily, to Allah we belong and to Him is our return
Asslam alaikum,
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Brother Ismat Ullah, who passed away early Friday morning, July 18th. We ask all community members to offer a special Du'a for him.
The Janazah Salah will be held on Sunday, July 20th, at 1:15 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home (3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543), followed by burial at 2:00 PM at Manheim Fairview Cemetery (98 W Sun Hill Rd, Manheim, PA 17545).
Brother Ismat Ullah was a kind and humble member of our community, an inspiration for charity and service since the inception of ICCL in 2013. Born in Pakistan, he migrated to the US and was instrumental in serving communities and building Masajids in Syracuse, NY, Princeton, NJ, and Lancaster, PA. He retired from a pharmaceutical research career at Bristol Myers Squibb, holding several patents and publications. He is survived by his spouse, two daughters, two sons, and several grandchildren, MashaAllah.
On this solemn occasion, we offer our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the family. May Allah (SWT) grant the entire family mercy (Rahmah), patience (Sabr), and comfort during this difficult and trying time. We also pray for his soul and ask Allah (SWT) to expand and enlighten his grave with His Noor (Light) and grant him the highest place in Jannatul-Firdous (paradise), Ameen.
We remind ourselves, the surviving family members, and friends of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and reflect upon the words of condolence and prayer that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used on such occasions:
"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Inna lillahi ma akhadh wa lahu ma a'ta. Wa kullu shay'in indahu bi ajalin musamma faltasbir waltahtasib."
"To Allah we belong and to Him is our return. To Allah belongs what He takes and what He gives, and with Him everything has an appointed term, so let us have patience and seek reward from Him, Ameen."
